We ended up staying at Canary Resort, a beautiful small resort on one end of the main stretch of the beach in Mui Ne. It was very quaint and far away from the touristy part of Mui Ne which we loved.
We had one main reason for visiting Mui Ne – PURE RELAXATION. We had all had enough of the busier cities and loads of sightseeing and just wanted a place to unwind and actually have a mini vacation on our vacations. We stayed for 4 nights, 5 days and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our time in Mui Ne. Chris and I had a small bungalow for $18 US which included breakfast while Krista and Derek opted for the hotel room which was a large, spacious and bright room for $28 US.

Our days were pretty much spent in the beautiful pool with a swim up bar (which sold Saigon Green Beer for 10,000 dong a bottle – only 90 cents CDN), lounging by the pool, sleeping, reading, and taking dips in the warm ocean. In the evenings we chilled and played cards and DRANK of course (no surprise there!).

We were also lucky enough to hook up with two individuals who we had met on the DMZ tour in Hanoi, Stuart (Englishman who is traveling for 2 years) and Detlef (German French man who is finishing his three year travels around the world on his motorbike). We spent many a breakfasts talking with Detlef and listening to his interesting stories about his travel and where he has been. He gave us insight on our future travel plans in Europe, telling us about many ways to get around and was a huge help. We look forward to seeing him again in Paris in the fall. Detlef – Thank you for your kindness and advice, we look forward to hearing from you soon.

We also spent an evening with Stuart out on the beach talking and playing with his guitar. He played a few songs for us and we enjoyed each others’ company under the starry night.

Although most of our time was spent at the pool or in the ocean, we did do some amazing sightseeing in Mui Ne.
The sights will be covered in the next update…stay tuned….
Hope everyone is keeping warm back in Vancouver..
Love and miss everyone.

Is 'beer' supposed to be symbolizing something else, or are you two really drinking that much of it???
