We came for the Mustard - Dijon, France

At the request of most of you and largely due to the fact that I have just lost a couple of hours work on this write up, here are the pictures of Dijon. We came for the mustard and walked away with some really interesting mixes of architectural styles for the dominating churches that exist here in Dijon the Capital of the Burgundy region.

Sit back and enjoy, there will be no long essay attached to this one… (Not too happy right about now)

One of the more festive courtyards with the Medieval houses surrounding restaurants and shops

A pretty interesting building, not sure what it was designed for originally, but now appears to be an apartment building

Rav in the courtyard of our hotel “La Sauvage” – a great place to stay for a couple of nights with a lively restaurant on the side

Rav doing what she always does rubbing owls for good luck.

An interesting space as this was in front of the alter at the Notre Dame. Usually this area is really dark, but with the influence of the Renaissance and their induction of the dome, light is allowed to enter into this space… breath taking

The Notre Dame not your typical gothic style church

Yet another non traditional gothic church as the interior is in Gothic style but less ornate than most, with only a few stain glass windows to speak of

The exterior of St. Michel in true Renaissance fashion with roman arches, mythical figurines and a great deal of Neo-Classicism. A mixture of two very different ideas

St. Eitenne - Perhaps the most interesting one of all is this simply designed classical church with the remnants of the traditional Gothic body

Rav in front of Palace De Duc having lunch

Front Façade of Palace De Duc where the Musee De Beaux Art is located

Rav’s favourite painting – La Glaze as it is called. Very moving

That is all, that is it… onto Avignon next.

Hey unemployed bum,

What happened to your write-up? Did the same thing happen to you as it did to me when I stayed up till 3am writing e-mails to all our friends and family back home. That sucked so I can totally understand why you would be pissed.

Hey, did you guys end up going to Mont St. Micheal? Or are you waiting for me and another trip?

Hope you guys are having an amazing time and can't wait for the next update.
